We are so excited to announce Subbed In will be publishing a paperback novella by Heather Joan in 2020.

Think Ex Machina meets Blade Runner 2049 meets Tangerine meets a good plot from a lesbian porno directed by a lesbian. Woman in Chrome (working title) by Heather Joan is a sci-fi novella about a trans femme activist and sex worker surviving in a world torn apart by the climate apocalypse.

About the author

Heather Joan is a comedienne, multidisciplinary artist, and adult actress. Her work explores, examines, and extrapolates on her own experiences of non-monogamy, sex work, contemporary activism, and liminal identities, as a neurodiverse trans woman of colour. She lives with her witch wife and their feline daughters on Wurundjeri land. Read her memoir piece, Androphobia, in Black Inc’s anthology, Growing Up Queer in Australia. Listen to her debut LP, a goth pop concept album titled Princess, on all major streaming platforms.
